The Field Does Narrow
Mitt Romney is out. For more on this, click here, here, and here.
That leaves three Republicans: Mike Huckabee, John McCain, and Ron Paul. While some Republicans may not want McCain to be the nominee, his nomination seems almost certain. With all due respect to Ron Paul, who has a loyal following and has raised an astonishing amount of money, I have as good a chance of being president as he does And Huckabee? He may stay in the race, but he has virtually no chance of heading the Republican ticket. There is, however, already a lot of talk about him as the vice presidential running mate with McCain. Therefore, as we continue to examine the candidates’ views on labor and employment law issues, both McCain and Huckabee should be in the mix.
Clinton and Obama appear to be in it ’til the bitter end, which may mean they’ll still be fighting it out at the end of the Democratic convention, and if so, it may be bitter. Anyway, both of them are obviously in the mix.
So, we’re down to four candidates. It’s still difficult to figure out what it would mean for labor and employment law if one of them were elected, but being able to look at four instead of ten or twelves makes the task more manageable. We’ll see.
