Is this scary?

I’m assuming that you haven’t yet required your employees to line up and spit into a test tube for genetic testing.  If you have, call your lawyer immediately.  As an article in the Washington Post tells us, individuals are doing this on their own for a variety of reasons.  And as you might imagine, there’s vigorous debate about the validity of the science of this kind of testing and about the propriety of doing this sort of testing.

Is this where we’re headed in the workplace?  Would you like to have a peek at the results of a test like this for your applicants?  Would your health insurance carrier like to have a peek?

This is one more privacy-related issue to put on your radar.  Privacy is becoming a big issue in our society and in our workplaces.  Yet it’s an issue that the presidential candidates don’t talk about at all.  They better start.

Keep your eyes and ears open for more developments.
