Yesterday, I had three posts about “no shame” in the C-Suite. In today’s Washington Post, Steven Perlstein seems to think that “hypocrisy” is the better term. He writes about two stories, one involving American Airlines’ attempt to cut its skycaps (who made $5.15 an hour) out of money they were due and the other involving the chief executive officer of Washington Mutual (one of the culprits in the subprime mortgage mess) who made over $5 million last year.
Washington Mutual says it’s going to stop that sort of thing from happening in the future (don’t hold breath), while American Airlines continues to cancel hundreds of flights stranding tens of thousands of passengers who may well need the services of skycaps.
