Real Life Sex Harassment?

April 9th, 2008 · No Comments

There’s a recent article in the Columbus Dispatch about a sexual harassment matter that some would say is all too common.  In other words, this sort of thing happens every day–not only the alleged sexual harassment but the way it was handled or not handled.  Whether the underlying complaint is true or not, the article is an interesting read and provides real life lessons.

Sex harassment doesn’t have to occur at work to be unlawful.

If it occurs away from work, there will almost always be witnesses.

The best laid plans to keep a sexual harassment matter private rarely work.

Instead of worrying about keeping it private it, investigate it and take corrective action.

Booze and desire often lead to allegations of sexual harassment.

Don’t hit on people you supervise.

And here’s another article from the Dispatch as this matter teeters on the verge of spiraling out of control.
