Man Gene Finished in Ohio?

May 2nd, 2008 · No Comments

I wouldn’t bet on it.  An internal investigation report issued today on the sex harassment scandal in the office of the Ohio Attorney General has resulted in the firing of two employees (and close friends of the Attorney General) and the resignation of another.  (Click here, here, and here for other posts on this matter.)

But what about the Attorney General?  One of the two female employees who complained about sex harassment and started this investigation still says the AG contributed to the top-down hostile environment that seemed to pervade his office.  The investigative report says the AG exercised “poor judgment” by welcoming the two females to his condo, especially when one was drunk.  “When it was obvious that she was intoxicated, arrangements should have been made to have her escorted home in a safe manner.”

So, we’ll see what happens next, if anything.  It’s not uncommon for the top dog to get off with a slap on the wrist, while his subordinates are fired or disciplined.  The Man Gene may survive to cause turmoil yet another day in Ohio.
