Check ‘em out.
Carnival of Business and Entrepreneurship mentions my post on “The Reinforced Glass Ceiling.” Check out this carnival for a plethora of business and management-related posts.
Believe it or not, there’s a blog about purfusionists. This blog mentions my post about a recent workplace bullying case that involved a perfusionist (the person who operates the heart/lung machine during open heart surgeries). I must confess that I didn’t know what a perfusionist did until I read the bullying case, but I think we would all agree that he/she has an important job.
Quick News mentions my post on the AEPA (Animal Employment Protection Act). I think the AEPA being discussed in Quick News is a different one from my AEPA, but what the heck.
Cultural Offering mentions my post titled “Would you hire Hillary?” CO also has an interesting post on three things worth getting good at.
Bob Sutton Work Matters reviews a book on escaping corporate America, in case you’ve ever had that thought.
Then if you want to move in another direction, Managing Leadership has a review of a book on liberal fascism.
The Laconic Law Blog offers a short, not-so-sweet post on why it’s important for employment problems not to morph into employment lawsuits.
When Fear and Loathing–The Gonzo Papers does a post on “hot times in the peach state,” there’s not a word about the Atlanta bar owner’s Curious George T-shirts. I’m not sure what to make of that.
Come to think of it, I’m not sure why Curious George didn’t make Infamy or Praise’s Thank God It’s Schandenfreude this week. Maybe I don’t understand TGIS.
Dan Schwartz blogs about COBRA, particularly what it might take to show that an employee was guilty of gross misconduct and, thus, not eligible for COBRA.
Jon Hyman notes the importance of a prompt investigation when a sex harassment claim is made.
Inappropriate language is a problem in most workplaces from time to time. As the ABA Journal weekly newsletter notes, it can also be a problem with judges. Just as the judge in the matter reported in the newsletter was disciplined, that’s what should happen with workplace supervisors who can’t seem to control what they say.
Troy Foster brings home a review of the finale of this abbreviated season’s The Office in that’s what she said.
And from Cultural Offering, some fabulous music.
