Wichita Lineman–HR Song of the Week

July 18, 2008 at 6:07 am by: John Phillips

Glen Campbell sings of the difficulty of any employee who works at a solitary but necessary job.  In that context, his late 1960’s hit is a great work song.

I enjoy your blog a lot. Thanks, E.

What a blog you have! Thanks for your comment about my blog. I have a feeling I’ll enjoy yours a lot.

To be honest, I’ve never liked the song Wichita Lineman. I chose it, however, because it’s about the kind of job that derserves a lot of respect. I do like your version better. I like the way the horns are more prominent than in the original version or the one that I put on my blog.

Thanks for giving me a jolt.

Thanks so much John. If you really really like it, and you decide to become a non-reader, please consider putting there over your right.

I see you are a big fan of Michael Wade too. That boy’s doin’ good!

Believe it or not, I used to use a video that you were in when I taught, maybe Workplace Violence? I’m sure it was you from your pix.

    Thanks again!!!! E.

Sounds like you used one of the Danger Zones videos I was involved with. We started with 7 DZ’s, then went to 10 DZ’s, now have 12 DZ’s. Workplace violence was one of the DZ’s.

Keep your eclecticism moving onward and upward.
