Check out this week’s potpourri.

Cultural Offering has an insightful post on “virtues,” something every workplace could use more of.

And speaking of insightful, Execupundit has figured out a way to create a new area of expertise in the workplace.

Telecommuting has been a subject covered on this blog.  It’s increasingly important for all employers.  Dan Schwartz has a couple of posts on this subject.  (Click here and here.)  Dan also has a post on the term “intellectual disability.”  Never heard of it?  Check out the post.

Speaking of telecommuting and the different ways we work today, check out an interesting article in the ABA Journal weekly newsletter.  It’s virtual, man.

Corporate Vigilance includes my post on “Desperate for Basic Training,” as well as posts on project management, securing corporate offline computers, business ethics, overrated careers, the BAE scandal, and good gossip/bad gossip.

The Carnival of Education includes my post on “The Disappearance of Gray at Work,” along with a number of other posts that could be useful to HR professionals.

This week, we’ve explored what to do about tough times in the workplace.  Pennyslvania Employment Law Blog has a post that fits in called “Making the Most of a Layoff.”

Delaware Employment Law Blog has “one great FMLA hypothetical” about Brad, Angelina and the twins.

I had a post this week on the flap over Jesse Jackson’s comments about Barack Obama.  Check out I’m A Pundit Too’s take on this subject.

I also had a post on the New Yorker cover controversy.  This matter is also considered by AbovetheLaw and Cultural Offering.

As a follow-up to all the stuff about Obama, Jackson and the New Yorker, check out a post on Workplace Prof Blog about an article dealing with “racial exhaustion.”

Jottings By An Employer’s Lawyer celebrates its sixth anniversary of blogging.  Jottings also lists 47 other employment-related blogs.  Check it out to join in the celebration and to obtain a ready reference list of blogs that will help you from time to time.

I’ve had a number of posts on guns in the workplace in light of new state laws on the subject in addition to the Supreme Court’s Heller decision.  Check out that’s what she said’s take on the subject.

Northern Exposure gives the Canadian perspective on whether employers should give employment references.

And now music from Cultural Offering.
