Check out this week’s potpourri:
Dan Schwartz mentions my post titled “DOJ Teaches Hiring Lessons.” Dan goes on to report on Attorney General Michael Mukasey’s comments he made about this matter in a speech to the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates meeting in New York, which Dan is attending. Dan summarizes Mukasey’s remarks and provides a full text of the speech as well. Check out Dan’s blog for something from the horse’s mouth.
Dan also has an interesting post on issues to consider in deciding whether employment practices liability insurance is right for you.
Cultural Offering mentions my post on “The Transparent Olympics” in one of CO’s posts about the impossibility of partial freedom.
Michael Moore mentions my post titled “The Electronic Leash” in a post he does about electronically monitoring telecommuting employees.
I had a previous brief post on the John Edwards situation and The Man Gene. Check out this article in the ABA Journal weekly newsletter for a bizarre addition to this story.
Could Delaware Employment Law Blog have the post of the week? Check it out to see how to use Google alerts to monitor your online reputation.
Execupundit tells us why it might not be so good for an employee if he/she doesn’t complain. Pay close attention to this one.
Jottings By An Employer’s Lawyer has an interesting (maybe shocking?) post on the proposed Employee Free Choice Act. I’m spending some time in Maine right now, and this proposed legislation seems to be a major issue in Senator Susan Collins’ bid for reelection. It should be a big issue in elections across the country.
Check out that’s what she said for an interesting post on how wanting to be liked can lead to favoritism and unequal treatment.
Northern Exposure provides an update on important labor and employment law changes in Canada.
And now music from Cultural Offering.
